The ASU Art Museum is pleased to present the first retrospective screening of time-based video art that spans and documents more than a twenty-year period of the artist's prolific career from 1993 to 2013. A selection of 21 short videos captures the incredible diversity of Palma's practice which fuses engineering, sculpture, performance, painting, photography and technology. The residue of time-based artwork itself becomes art as the final video archive. This one-time screening captures the breadth and complexity of Miguel Palma, whom critics have called “one of the most creative artists of his generation."
Learn more about the diverse and prolific work of Portuguese artist Miguel Palma and say farewell to him as he completes a year-long residency through the ASU Art Museum and returns to Portugal the following day on February 17, 2013.
Introduction and short remarks by the artist and curator at 4:00p.m.
